Biographical Statement

Hazel Willard Tucker of Belvidere, IL, class of 1912, attended Wheaton College from 1908-11. She was born in April 1890. Other studies included Domestic and Scientific. She died March 14, 1984 having been a Parkway Terrace Nursing Home resident in Wheaton since 1977. Hazel and her husband, the late Morgan Tucker, class of 1914 (d. 12/9/1973) had been active at College Church of Wheaton since their marriage in 1912. Hazel was active in community affairs and often served as an election judge, was a long-time member of the history club, and assisted Morgan in his 45-year work with the Chicago Boys' Club (1920-1965) until retirement. At the time of her death she was the oldest member of College Church, nearly reaching her 94th birthday. She was survived by a son and daughter, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
