Biographical Statement

Sheldon Vanauken is the author of a number of books and articles, including A Severe Mercy, a biographical account of marriage and Christian faith which chronicles the author's friendship with C.S. Lewis, and Gateway to Heaven, a novel which deals with married love and maturing. Born in 1914, Mr. Vanauken died on October 28, 1996.
