Biographical Statement
Rev. John J. Coleman attended Wheaton College between 1886-89, during the Jonathan Blanchard administration. Originally from Plymouth, IN he was registered as a special student. He was also a diligent diarist, describing his day-to-day life at Wheaton College in the nineteenth century.

Scope and Contents
The John J. Coleman diary numbers 96 pages in a leather binding, now dis-attached at the covers. Each page contains Coleman's script. The book measures 3 X 5 1/2. His handwriting is legible as he engagingly relates daily life at Wheaton College during the years in which he attended, 1886-89.
