Biographical Statement

Miss Doris Loreen McShane, a 1929 charter member of Wheaton Bible Church, graduated from Wheaton College in 1940 with a B.A. in Literature. She was born January 22, 1907 in Merriam, Kansas to Lewis Leslie McShane and Mary Lorena Ellis. She attended Wheaton Academy for prepatory school. She was a teacher for many years and was an active member of Northside Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, FL. She died November 27, 1999 at the age of 92 in St. Petersburg where she lived since 1952. She was survived by her sister Marjorie McShane Wilbur (Class of '36), two nephews and two nieces.

Scope and Contents The Doris L. McShane scrapbook has faded, leatherlike covers, sporting an imprint of roses beneath the words, "A Girl's Commencement: Rosebud Memories." The 6 X 9 book contains pasted-in articles describing literary society events, in addition to concerts invitations, glee clubs and recitals. Glued within are cloth and construction paper decorations from special events and holidays. Photos portray the Wheaton Academy basketball and baseball teams, including schedules for games.
