Biographical Statement

Esther Helen Lindquist was born May 18, 1914 in Jamestown, NY to Bror Alexander Lindquist and Esther Greenlund of Sweden. She attended Jamestown High School, North Park Jr. College (Chicago, IL) and Houghton College before graduating from Wheaton College in 1937 with a B.A. in Literature. She was a member of the Boethallian Literary Society. She entered her senior year from Houghton College, studying pre-med at Wheaton. She taught english and swedish at Jamestown High School for 38 years and was very active in First Covenant Church, Jamestown, NY. She died August 2, 2001 at the age of 87 in Jamestown. She was survived by her husband, George Erickson.

Scope and Contents The Esther Lindquist Erickson ('37) scrapbook measures 15" x 11.25" , and sports a red, pebbled cover. It displays the typical items treasured by students of the era: literary society invitations, cartoons, train tickets, room assignment notices, postcards and holiday greeting cards, in addition to articles reporting campus events and visits from special speakers.
