Summary Note
Kenneth and Margaret tell at length about the birth of their first child, Peggy. Margaret had slept well through the night, and she woke in the morning with the first signs of labor. Toward the middle of the morning the Landons were at Miss Christiansen's clinic. Around the baby came to "the exit," and it was a breech, so the nurse midwife sent Kenneth to go call Dr. Theobald, probably one of the best doctors in the world at the time for complicated delivery cases. He manipulated the baby and got it out in no time. Margaret recalls her labor as painful beyond what she could describe, but remembers Miss Christiansen as caring beyond what she could hope for. (Length 28:49)
