Scope and Contents
This archive contains unpublished contributions by Dorothy L. Sayers for the 1944 symposium on “The Future of the Jews,” as well as extensive correspondence and publications relating to the topic. The correspondence includes contributions from: The Refugee Aliens Protection Committee, The Friendly Aliens Protection Committee (notably General Sir Wyndham Deedes, Miss L.M. Livingstone, J.J. Lynx and James Parkes), the Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Deportees Welfare Committee, The Board of Deputies of British Jews (Sydney Salomon), and the publisher Lindsay Drummond.
The material in this archive was acquired as photocopies from a private donor who purchased the original materials at Sotheby’s in London in 2000. The original Sotheby’s lot included in this archive is Lot 294. An inventory of the original lot is available from the Wade's acquisition records upon request.
