The Lewis Family Papers or Memoirs of the Lewis Family (1850-1930), 1933-1935
Scope and Contents
11 volumes edited by Warren Hamilton Lewis. Unpublished [Leeborough Press]. After their father’s death, Warren and C.S. Lewis retrieved a variety of papers—including diaries, letters, photographs and other documents from the family home in Belfast. Warren Lewis later sorted and arranged these family papers, transcribing and typing them into eleven bound volumes spanning the years 1850 to 1930, wrote transitional notes, and thereby created this brief history of the Lewis and Hamilton families. Upon completion of this family memoir, the original documents (letters and diaries) were destroyed; the photographs are now part of the photograph collection of the Wade Center. The volumes are stored in the Wade Center book collection, call numbers: PR6023.E926 Z465 1933a and PR6023.E926 Z465 1933.
