This archive contains correspondence, notes, and drafts relating to the publication of Evolution of Consciousness: Studies in Polarity (Wesleyan University Press, 1976) edited by Shirley Sugerman with contributions from a number of scholars in honor of the 75th birthday of Owen Barfield.

This collection is arranged in 4 series: Correspondence, Drafts, Notes, and Itemized Materials.

The Correspondence series mainly contains letters with the scholars who contributed to the Evolution of Consciousness festschrift volume for Owen Barfield, and the publisher of the volume, Wesleyan University Press. Folders are arranged alphabetically by last name.

The Drafts series contains handwritten drafts, galley proofs, and page proofs for the book.

The Notes series contains various handwritten notes by Shirley Sugerman.
