Scope and Contents

The archive is divided into three series: Inserts, Offprints, and Unpublished.

The Inserts series contains items removed from the personal library books of Owen Barfield, arranged alphabetically by book title.

The Offprints are published essays and articles excerpted from periodicals and books, arranged alphabetically by title of publication.

The Unpublished series includes various pamphlets and miscellanea which were never formally published. Some items are annotated by Owen Barfield.

The items in this archive were originally put up for sale by Waterford’s booksellers in Britain in 2001, and were donated to the Wade Center by Owen A. Barfield (the grandson of Owen Barfield) in 2010. All materials come from the personal library of Owen Barfield.
