Fr. Giovanni Calabria, an Italian priest, first writes to C.S. Lewis in September 1947 after reading the Italian translation of Lewis’s book, The Screwtape Letters. Their letters were in Latin since Calabria did not know English, and their correspondence continued for eight years until Calabria’s death in 1954.
