C.S. Lewis Testimonies Archive
Scope and Contents
This archive includes text from C.S. Lewis: Lightbearer in the Shadowlands describing the two surveys conducted in 1986 and 1996, survey ads and announcements, and responses to those surveys. Folders 4 and 5 contain copies of two letters by C.S. Lewis.
A 2014 survey was added to this archive in 2018, conducted by Dr. Alan Snyder, a professor of history at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. Dr. Synder researched the influence of C.S. Lewis on the United States and is the author of the book America Discovers C.S. Lewis: His Profound Impact (Wipf & Stock, 2016). Part of his research included collecting personal testimonies from Americans on how reading Lewis has impacted their lives. The Marion E. Wade Center worked with Dr. Snyder to collect those testimonies. Respondents in this survey agreed to have their responses added to the Wade Center's archival collections.
