Scope and Contents
This collection is arranged in two series: Teaching Materials and Research Materials. The Teaching Materials series primarily focuses on the class Modern Mythology LIT 431, with emphasis on G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, George MacDonald, Madeline L’Engle, John Bunyan, William Blake, and others. It includes syllabi and lecture notes from Dr. Hein as well as pertinent articles and some examples of student work.
The Research Materials series focuses on Dr. Hein’s personal research of George MacDonald and includes articles and notes with background on various aspects of MacDonald’s life. Most of this archive was left in the original ordering and folder titles of Dr. Hein.
