This archive contains five series: Articles and Miscellanea, Correspondence, Poetry, Manuscripts, and Unpublished Materials. The Articles series contains articles by and about Barfield, as well as some miscellanea relating to him. The Correspondence in the archive spans from 1976 to 1996 and is all sent to Jeanne Clayton Hunter primarily from Owen Barfield, but also includes: Jeffrey Barfield, Walter Hooper, and Moira Reddick. The correspondence material has been cross-listed with the Owen Barfield Papers collection. The Poetry and Manuscript series contain works by Barfield, and have been cross-listed with the Owen Barfield Manuscripts collection at the Wade Center. The Unpublished Materials series contains a single folder of works in draft form about Owen Barfield. Photographs of Owen Barfield are included in folders 1 and 8. The original prints are stored in the Barfield Photograph Collection. All materials in this archive arrived in a briefcase believed to have belonged to Owen Barfield, with the initials A.O.B. on the front. The briefcase is cross-listed with the Wade Center’s memorabilia collection.
