Biographical or Historical Information
The Religious Book Club offered books on the Christian faith and life by authors deemed to have made, in the words of an RBC ad, a positive "reinterpretation of Christianity and the relating of it to modern problems." Members of the club received a new Club edition book every two months at discounted prices. Sayers joined the Advisory Committee for the club in 1941. The committee met regularly and selected new books for publication.
The material in this archive was acquired at auction from Sotheby's in London by the Wade Center in 2000. The original Sotheby's lot included in this archive is: Lot 292, iv.
