St. Anne's House Archive
Scope and Contents
This archive has four series: Administrative Files, Correspondence, Miscellanea, and Publications. Items are arranged chronologically within the folders.
The Administrative Files consist primarily of meeting minutes and agendas from various St. Anne’s councils, but also include reports from the Commission into the Working of St. Anne’s House, and materials relating to St. Anne’s art, music, and drama clubs.
The Correspondence series contains letters between Father Patrick McLaughlin and Dorothy L. Sayers. Several other folders of correspondence relating to St. Anne’s were removed from this archive and placed in the Dorothy L. Sayers Papers. See the “related materials” listing below for more details.
Miscellanea includes various clippings and drafts of unidentified items by Sayers, and the Publications series contains the constitution, events listings, and annual reports from St. Anne’s.

Abstract
This archive contains materials relating to St. Anne's House, an Anglican organization formed with the goal of bringing the Christian faith into dialogue with aspects of modern culture--with particular emphasis on reaching out to the artistic and intellectual communities of London. Dorothy L. Sayers was an active member of St. Anne's House and a strong supporter of its mission. At her death in December 1957, Sayers's ashes were placed under the tower of St. Anne's in Soho.
