Copies of an article from an unidentified journal entitled "Mrs. Emma Ekvall," on the back of which is a photocopy of a typed story of Mrs. Ekvall's life. A transcript of an edited tape recording of Howard A. Smith describing the episode in May-July 1943 where he and his family were captured and kidnapped by Communist Chinese in West China. Interview done in Wheaton on December 6, 1970. Three cassette tapes: WETN, Mrs. Ekvall; Gertrude Smith describing childhood and missionary experience in China ? taped 1960; Howard Smith, C&MA missionary, relating capture and escape from Communist Army in 1934 in China.
