Statistics, December 1951 - January 1952, undated
Scope and Contents
Correspondence, memos, reports, forms, manuals, statistical summaries, publicity materials, newspaper clippings relating to the counseling and follow-up systems the Navigators created and supervised for Billy Graham Evangelistic Association meetings between 1950 and 1957. Records document the details of this system for counseling people who came forward at BGEA evangelistic meetings and maintaining contact with them as they began to develop a Christian lifestyle. For some crusades, besides manuals for counselors and advisors, staff reports, statistical reports and clippings, there are also follow-up statistical reports on the after-effects of the crusade and pastors' responses to it. Also in the collection are a few items from the Los Angeles campaign of 1947, the Southern California Crusade of 1963, and a notebook dating from 1953 explaining the need for a new headquarters for the Navigators. Documents have information on particular BGEA crusades, training methods, views of the Bible, and American Evangelicalism. Persons prominently featured include Billy Graham, Willis Haymaker, Charlie Riggs, Lorne Sanny and Dawson Trotman.
