Scope and Contents

Microfilm edition of the papers of Baptist educator, missionary, and leader Luther Rice (1783-1836), including a list of correspondents, lecture notes on theology and other topics, school records of Columbian College, diary, financial record book, and letters. Also includes a copy of the 1814 constitution (and later suggested revisions) of the General Missionary Convention of the Baptist Denomination in the United States for Foreign Missions. Originals filmed by the Historical Commission of the Southern Baptist Church.
