Scope and Contents

Oral history interviews with Donna Sue Wasson, a missionary of Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF) working in Taiwan starting in 1985. Topics discussed include her childhood and early spiritual seeking, conversion while in college, membership in Moody Church in Chicago and education at Moody Bible Institute, acceptance as a missionary by Overseas Missionary Fellowship, orientation in Singapore, her evangelistic ministry in Taiwan among factory workers, including teaching English classes; characteristics of OMF as an organization. The time period covered by the interviews is 1957 to 2000.

Donna Sue Wasson was interviewed by Bob Shuster on October 20 and 26 and December 15, 2000 in the offices of the Billy Graham Center Archives at Wheaton College.

1979-1980 - Commercial casualty underwriter, Hartford Insurance Company, Chicago, Illinois

1983-1984 - Receptionist, Health Service, Moody Bible Institute

Summer 1984 - Candidate School, Overseas Missionary Fellowship. Accepted as an OMF missionary in June

1984-1985 - Part-time secretary for the Evangelism Pastor, Moody Church, Chicago, Illinois

October, 1985 - Missionary. Overseas Missionary Fellowship, serving in Taiwan

First term (1985-1989) - spent in Mandarin Language study and working for the Taiwan Industrial Evangelism Fellowship among factory workers in Taipei.

Second term (1990-1993) - working for the Taiwan Industrial Evangelism Fellowship among factory workers in ChungLi.

Third term - learning the Hakka language, working with HsinFeng Holiness Church among factory workers in the HsinGeng Industrial District.

Other significant information

1980-1985 - Became a member of Moody Church, rededicated her life to the Lord, taught Sunday School, received training in witnessing from Evangelism Explosion International.
