Biographical or Historical Information

Weekly religious radio program featuring Rev. Howard O. Jones; program first aired in the late 1960s as a continuation of a radio program Jones had produced for broadcast in Africa and United States; based in Oberlin, Ohio, program was a half hour long including musical selections, Bible reading, and a sermon. Jones was born April 12, 1921; graduated from Nyack Missionary College of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, 1944; served as pastor of Smoot Memorial C&MA Church in Cleveland, 1952-1958; began broadcasting regular radio program and holding evangelistic crusades, 1954; became associate evangelist of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1958; appointed director of the Billy Graham Relief Fund for Africa, 1973; married Wanda Young, 1944, and had five children.
