After the Thai-British negotiations in 1946, the Thai government wanted to give a gift to Kenneth. However, Kenneth had the reputation of not accepting gifts of any value. The government had a policy that fine statues of the Buddha could not be taken out of the country. Through some workings, the government worked it so that Kenneth obtained three fine Buddhas--the real gift, however, was that he was to be able to take these Buddhas out of the country. (Length 4:22)
