The Palmer Papers is organized into seven series: Correspondence, Miscellaneous, Photographs, Publications, Radio, Scrapbooks, Television and Oversize.

The bulk of the collection falls within the Photographs series with this containing several sub-series: Film Negatives, Film Prints, Home & Family Photographs, Miscellaneous Celebrity, Photographs, Movie Stills, Photo Shoot Photographs, Rehearsal Photographs, Television, and Theatre Photographs. The bulk of the photographs date from 1954 to 1967.

Correspondence dates from 1959-1986 with main correspondents being Myrna Grant and Mr. and Mrs. James Keddie.

The collection contains several scrapbooks that document Ms. Palmer's career.
