The John L. Smith Collection contains the papers which document his mission work with the Mormons through Utah Missions, Inc., and the Utah Evangel Newspaper. Little information is included regarding his work as a Baptist minister. The papers are arranged into series of correspondence, manuscripts, pamphlets, and publications. The John L. Smith Collection includes both pro and contra-Mormon works.
