Dr. Arthur Ammann ’58 was a zoology major at Wheaton. He is a pediatric immunologist who has done extensive research in pediatrics and HIV/AIDS in children and who, in 1982, first described two of the three known means of HIV transmission—mothers to infants and through blood transfusions.
