Scope and Contents The Addie Eliza Collins Papers is composed of biographical information about her principalship at Wheaton College, correspondence with Collins' decendants, college manuscripts and family photographs. The bulk of the collection centers around a dozen hand-written college papers in delicate script and family photographs from 1870-1900 including her mother, children and grandchildren.

Scope and Contents The Dow papers are organized into five series (Biographical, Correspondence, Manuscripts, Publish Material and Secondary). The bulk of the collection relates to Dow’s teaching and speaking career and includes notebooks, speeches and class notes. Another portion of some significance is genealogical files located with the biographical series. The collection contains several folders of correspondence in various series.

Scope and Contents The McClatchey papers are organized into seven series: Biographical, Correspondence, Manuscripts, Published Works, Syllabi, Teaching Materials (Files), Video. Nearly the entire collection is found in the Teaching Materials series. These files served as the background material for his classroom lectures. Another significant element of the collection is the unpublished manuscript "The praise of God in literature: from Homer to Hopkins."

The variety of Dr. Free's activities as a professor was shown by his work folders containing correspondence from overseas tours, teaching materials, and departmental information. Dr. Free was especially involved in coordinating archaeological study group tours to Dothan in the Holy Land. Scope and Contents The Martha B. "Mattie" Woodard sketchbook contains laboratory notes and drawings from her Zoology course by Professor R.C. Mullenix taken spring 1899. The 10x7x.5 inch sketchbook was from Boyer's Series of Science Tablets designed by E.R. Boyer, published by Central School Supply House, Chicago, 1895. The tablet sold for 40 cents and containted thirty sheets of both high-grade drawing paper and ruled paper, bound with cardboard covers and cloth-bound edge and brass fasteners. Included are...

Scope and Contents The Nora Emily Kellogg diary is written within a booklet inscribed as "National Safe Deposit Company, First National Bank Building, Chicago." The black book measures 2 3/4 X 5 1/2. Within are printed maps of the U.S. and columns for financial transactions. Miss Kellogg uses the interior primarily for citing books read and class notes.
