The journals in the collection cover an incomplete fourteen year period, beginning 1853-1863 and ending 1866-1867. A great majority of his entries after his marriage were written in short hand and are not translated. According the a series of journals (1863-1865) published in 1996 as War journal of Louis N. Beaudry by a great-great grandson, these journals had been left behind when Beaudry's eldest daughter Millie and her family moved from their home in the 1930s (p. ix). The collection also...
